Hardware tier list for Free State on a R40,000 should be shortlisted around the job it must do. South African buyers should compare fit, performance, compatibility, and upgrade room, warranty path, and upgrade room before treating any pick as best.
On a R40,000 budget in Free State, the best tier is a balanced 1440p Ultra / entry 4K system: Ryzen 7 7700X or Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RTX 4070 Super or RTX 4070 Ti, 32GB DDR5 and a 2TB NVMe SSD, hitting 120+ fps at 1440p and 60+ fps at 4K in many titles. R40,000 pushes into high-refresh 1440p and entry 4K, all stocked at Evetech.
S-tier (all-rounder): Ryzen 7 7700X or Ryzen 7 7800X3D with an RTX 4070 Super or RTX 4070 Ti, 32GB DDR5 and a 2TB NVMe SSD for 1440p Ultra / entry 4K. A-tier (esports-first): trim the GPU and put the saving into a 144Hz monitor for high frame rates. B-tier (creator-leaning): keep the CPU and RAM, add storage for editing or rendering.
Put the budget into the GPU (RTX 4070 Super or RTX 4070 Ti) and CPU (Ryzen 7 7700X or Ryzen 7 7800X3D) first — they decide real performance — then round out cooling and the case. Every part is stocked locally at Evetech with a standard warranty, so the figures here match what arrives at your door in Free State.
In practice this tier delivers 120+ fps at 1440p and 60+ fps at 4K in many titles, with the RTX 4070 Super or RTX 4070 Ti carrying the load and the Ryzen 7 7700X or Ryzen 7 7800X3D keeping 1% lows steady. A 850W PSU leaves a little headroom for a future GPU step-up, and a 2TB NVMe SSD means fast load times rather than a mechanical-drive bottleneck.
