The Solution & Implementation

The goal was to build a stable, high-performance foundation for both high-refresh-rate gaming and quality streaming. The solution was a move to the modern AM5 platform, which required a new CPU, DDR5 RAM, and a powerful new motherboard.

• Solution: After weighing his options, Jaco chose a motherboard known for strong VRM performance and reliability to handle a new Ryzen 7 CPU. He explored several excellent value options from brands like ASRock before ultimately landing on a board from the latest lineup of MSI motherboards, which offered the perfect balance of features and future-proofing for his needs.
• Implementation: The upgrade was straightforward. Jaco backed up his important files, then carefully removed the old motherboard, CPU, and RAM. He installed the new Ryzen CPU and DDR5 memory into the MSI board before seating it in his case. A fresh install of Windows 11 and the latest drivers completed the process, giving him a clean, optimised system ready for action. 🚀

The Results: A Night & Day Difference

The upgrade immediately resolved Jaco’s performance issues. The new motherboard’s superior power delivery kept the CPU fed with stable voltage, eliminating thermal throttling, while support for faster DDR5 RAM smoothed out frame times. The before-and-after metrics speak for themselves.
