Quick Answer

The Steam Deck LCD 256 GB is the most affordable handheld gaming PC at Evetech, sitting around R9,999–R11,999 — it runs the vast majority of Steam's library and handles popular SA titles at 30–60 fps at 800p. Daveyton buyers (Ekurhuleni, East Rand) receive Evetech courier deliveries in 2–4 business days. The OLED 512 GB model at roughly R14,999–R16,999 offers a better display and longer battery life if budget allows.

LCD vs OLED: What the Price Difference Gets You

LCD 256 GB (R9,999–R11,999): 7-inch IPS 800p 60 Hz panel, 40 Wh battery, 2–4 hours gaming per charge, AMD RDNA 2 GPU with 8 CUs. OLED 512 GB (R14,999–R16,999): OLED panel with HDR and 90 Hz, 50 Wh battery for 3–5 hours, same APU but better display. The performance gap between LCD and OLED is minimal — the OLED's advantage is the screen quality and battery duration. For Daveyton buyers focused on affordability, the LCD model is the sensible pick; a microSD card supplements the 256 GB internal storage cheaply.

FPS Targets in Popular Games

At 800p Low-Medium on the Steam Deck LCD: GTA V averages 40–50 fps, Fortnite Low 50–60 fps, FIFA/EA FC 55–60 fps, Hades 60 fps locked, Cyberpunk 2077 Low 30–38 fps. The Deck's TDP slider lets you reduce power draw to extend battery life — 9W TDP is sufficient for 2D games and light 3D titles. AAA open-world games benefit from a manual 30 fps cap for consistent performance.

Accessories for Daveyton Setups

MicroSD 256 GB: R350–R500 (doubles storage). Official Steam Deck dock: around R1,200–R1,500 (TV output via HDMI). Third-party USB-C dock: R700–R1,000. Carry case: R200–R350. Budget R1,500–R2,300 extra for a complete setup.
