How to safely receive a gaming laptop in Inanda should be shortlisted around the job it must do. South African buyers should compare CPU, GPU, RAM, and screen quality, warranty path, and upgrade room before treating any pick as best.
For a gaming laptop delivered to Inanda, check the carton before signing, power on to confirm GPU, CPU, and display refresh rate match your order, and log any defect with Evetech within 7 days. Inanda is north of Durban in the eThekwini metro — Aramex and RAM Couriers service the area within 2–3 business days from Johannesburg. Gaming laptops at Evetech start at R8,000 and reach R28,000+ for RTX 4070 class units delivering 144 fps at 1080p.
Inanda's sprawling layout means address specificity is critical for reliable door-to-door delivery. Include your section or block name, street number, and a landmark if possible. If a delivery attempt fails, Aramex and RAM Couriers both have Durban-area depots accessible from Inanda within a reasonable drive. Parcels are held 5–7 business days before return to sender.
Alternatively, Pudo lockers at nearby Phoenix Plaza provide a secure after-hours collection point for gaming laptop-sized parcels.
Gaming laptop boxes use foam corner inserts to protect the display hinge and screen. Inspect all six sides before signing — corner compression is the most common indicator of drop damage. Confirm the manufacturer's seal sticker is intact on the box flap.
Inside: power adapter (120 W–230 W), documentation, and on some models a laptop bag. Confirm the adapter wattage matches what is specified for the laptop — an underpowered adapter (e.g. 65 W for a 180 W laptop) will not charge under gaming load.
On first boot:
A R15,000 laptop with RTX 4060 should achieve 90+ fps in Apex Legends at 1080p High. An R8,000 entry model with GTX 1650 targets 60 fps at Medium settings.
Evetech stocks gaming laptops from R8,000 with GTX 1650 or RX 6500M GPUs that ship nationally including to Inanda. At R10,000–R12,000, expect 8–16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and a 1080p 60–144 Hz display. Check current stock on the Evetech website as models rotate regularly.
Open Device Manager (right-click Start > Device Manager) and expand Display Adapters — the discrete GPU model is listed there alongside the integrated graphics. Cross-reference against your Evetech order confirmation. If only integrated graphics appears, the discrete GPU may be disabled — check in NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Radeon Software.
Contact Evetech support online with your order number, a description of the defect, and photos or video. If a return is approved, Evetech arranges courier collection from your Inanda address via Aramex or RAM — no in-person transport to a service centre is required for the initial assessment.
open the GPU control panel (NVIDIA or AMD) and confirm the discrete GPU is set as the preferred graphics processor for games — some laptops default to integrated graphics on battery mode, which cuts performance dramatically in GPU-bound titles.

Windows transparency effects can be switched off to make supported backgrounds more opaque. Use Accessibility, Visual effects or the colour settings, then compare a menu against your wallpaper. This R0 preference changes appearance; it is not a promised.
Windows title bar window shake can minimise other open windows when you shake the active window by its title bar. Inspect the Multitasking setting and switch it off if that gesture interrupts your work. The preference costs R0 and does not require new hardware.
