Switch Guide for Midrand Buyers

For FPS gaming (Valorant, CS2, Warzone): linear switches (Red, Yellow) with 40–45 g actuation force. For MOBA/RTS (Dota 2, StarCraft): tactile switches (Brown, Clear) with moderate feedback and 45–60 g force. For typing-focused use: tactile or clicky (Blue) depending on noise tolerance. Most Evetech-stocked keyboards specify switch type in the product listing — filter by switch type for faster shortlisting.

Pickup Option From Johannesburg

There is no showroom. Collection of paid orders at the Centurion warehouse is by prior arrangement only. Every product carries the full manufacturer warranty for that product, minimum 12 months from the order date.

FAQ

How fast does Evetech deliver mechanical keyboards to Midrand?

For current delivery times and costs, see our delivery page.

What is the difference between TKL and full-size mechanical keyboard layouts?

A TKL (tenkeyless) keyboard omits the numpad, reducing width by about 30%. This gives more desk space for mouse movement — critical for low-sensitivity FPS gaming. Full-size boards retain the numpad, useful for accounting, data entry, and number-heavy work. For gaming, TKL is generally preferred. For hybrid office-and-gaming use, full-size works if desk space allows.

Can I buy a mechanical keyboard with hot-swap switches in Midrand through Evetech?

Yes — hot-swap keyboards allow switch changes without soldering. The Keychron K8 Pro (R2,200) and Keychron Q1 (R2,800) both feature hot-swap sockets and are available at Evetech. Hot-swap is ideal if you want to start with one switch type and later swap to a heavier or lighter variant without buying a new keyboard.
