Choosing Your Tablet

For Eastern Cape students at WSU (Walter Sisulu University) or Buffalo City TVET College: a mid-range tablet at R4,500–R6,500 covers 10-inch 1080p, 4–8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, and 8–12 hour battery — ideal for lecture notes, PDF annotation, and Zoom. A 4G LTE SIM-enabled model at R5,000–R6,500 provides connectivity independent of campus Wi-Fi, useful for WSU students who commute between East London and Komani. Battery capacity matters: 7,000 mAh handles a full lecture day without needing a charge; 5,000 mAh models may need a midday top-up.

Receiving and Checking the Parcel

Check the outer box for corner damage before signing the waybill. Open and test: screen (white background dead-pixel test), all buttons, USB-C charging (confirm charge light activates), cameras, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Any fault within 48 hours must be reported to Evetech with photos and your order number for Consumer Protection Act coverage.

Setup and Accessories

Sign into a Google account, install your university's LMS app, and enable cloud backup. A tempered glass screen protector at R100–R200 and a folio case at R150–R300 from Evetech protect the device for the full academic year.
