Top Mouse Picks by Weight and Budget
99g (budget, versatile): Logitech G305 (R700) — HERO sensor, 250hr AA battery, sub-1ms LIGHTSPEED. Best for gamers who want a reliable all-rounder without the premium price. 83g (lightweight FPS): Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed (R1,200) — 280hr battery, HyperSpeed wireless, 30,000 DPI Focus X sensor. Best for wrist-heavy FPS players in Pretoria East who game 4+ hours daily. 60g (tournament standard): Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 (~R2,800) — the current pro-standard mouse used in CS2 and Valorant tournaments. 95hr USB-C rechargeable battery.
DPI and Sensitivity Guidance for SA Gamers
Most competitive FPS players use 400–800 DPI and rely on arm movement for aiming. High DPI (8,000+) suits MOBA/RTS players using small wrist flicks on high-resolution monitors. The G305's HERO sensor at 400 DPI with the LIGHTSPEED connection handles competitive FPS accurately at any speed.
