The AULA AC306 puts round, retro floating keycaps on a full-size 104-key membrane keyboard tuned for quiet typing. It comes as a 2.4GHz set with a 3-step DPI mouse and one shared receiver, and AULA pitches it for the office and everyday home use.
Round keycaps have a way of making people smile. They borrow the look of an old typewriter, and on a modern desk they read as a deliberate style choice rather than another black slab. The AULA AC306 puts that look on a full-size board with a number pad, and pairs it with a matching mouse. Under the playful caps, though, this retro round keycap keyboard is a practical piece of kit built for quiet typing at home and in the office.
The AULA AC306 puts round, retro-style floating keycaps on a full-size 104-key membrane keyboard that AULA tunes for quiet typing. It comes as a 2.4GHz wireless set with a mouse that steps through 800, 1000 and 1600 DPI, and both share one USB receiver. AULA pitches it for the office and everyday home use, in pink, purple, blue and brown. Every colour costs R239 at Evetech.
The keys sit on what AULA calls an upgraded membrane. A membrane keyboard registers a press through a flexible sheet rather than an individual switch under each key, which is a big part of why it stays quiet. AULA says the feel is close to mechanical, with a responsive keystroke, while keeping the noise down.
That matters if you share a room. A membrane board avoids the sharp click some mechanical switches make, so a late email or an evening of homework does not carry into the next room. Because there are no individual switches, there is also nothing to swap or lubricate. It is a keyboard you plug in and use.
It would be easy to assume a style-led board trims keys to look neat. The AC306 does not. It is a full-size, 104-key layout with a dedicated number pad, so spreadsheets, household accounts, invoices and maths homework all keep their proper number keys. Num Lock and Caps Lock indicators sit on the board, along with a low-power light, so you can tell at a glance what state it is in.
There is no backlight. The only lights are those indicators, which keeps the look clean and saves the AA battery for typing.
Holding Fn with F1 to F12 gives you media and system shortcuts: play and pause, track skipping, volume, mute, browser, search, email and lock screen. Fn + W sets Windows mode and Fn + E sets Mac mode, so the same board can move between a family PC and a MacBook.
The matching mouse is a 4-button optical design with left and right buttons, a scroll wheel and a DPI button behind the wheel. That button steps through 800, 1000 and 1600 DPI, so you can slow the pointer down for careful work or speed it up on a large screen. At roughly 50g, and 109mm long, it is a light, compact shape.
Keyboard and mouse share one 2.4GHz USB receiver, and that receiver stores in a slot under the mouse when you pack the set away. There is no Bluetooth, so there is no pairing to manage either.
AULA offers the AC306 in pink, purple, blue and brown, each with round floating keycaps in a matching colour mix. The brown suits a wooden desk and a warm room; the blue and purple lift a plain white workspace; the pink makes a clear statement in a bedroom or a creative corner.
Evetech lists all four colours with a 1 Year Local Warranty. You will find the set among the keyboard and mouse combos, and for keyboards on their own there is the office keyboard range at Evetech.
