1440p Monitor Options at Every Price

At R3,500–R4,500, a 27-inch 1440p 75–100 Hz IPS panel delivers sharp 2,560 x 1,440 visuals — substantially better than 1080p for both gaming and study. At R5,000–R7,000, 144 Hz models with 1 ms MPRT response and adaptive sync suit competitive FPS gaming. Above R7,000, VA and IPS panels at 165–180 Hz with FreeSync Premium Pro or G-Sync Compatible deliver peak high-refresh-rate performance.

Panel Type Guide: IPS vs VA at 1440p

IPS panels at 1440p offer wider 178-degree viewing angles and accurate colour — best for creative work and productivity. VA panels deliver deeper contrast ratios (3,000:1+) versus IPS (typically 1,000:1), making dark scenes in games richer. Both reach 144 Hz. IPS is generally the default pick for most SA gamers.
