Headset guide for Thokoza buyers

Budget (R600–R1,200): Wired stereo, 40 mm drivers — casual gaming with basic voice comms. Mid-range (R1,200–R2,500): HyperX Cloud II (R1,500) or SteelSeries Arctis 3 (R1,800) — 50 mm drivers, virtual 7.1 surround, detachable noise-cancelling mic. The practical tier for daily gaming in Thokoza. Premium (R2,500–R4,000): SteelSeries Arctis 7P (R2,500) or Corsair Virtuoso (R3,500) — wireless 2.4 GHz, 24-hour battery, superior build and audio fidelity.

Specs that matter for Thokoza gamers

For competitive FPS gaming in Valorant, CS2, or Call of Duty, 50 mm drivers with virtual 7.1 surround sound make a real difference — directional audio cues for footsteps and gunshots are noticeably clearer than on 40 mm stereo units. Mic quality is crucial in squad play: noise-cancelling designs filter background noise from a shared Thokoza household. Comfort for extended sessions: memory foam ear cups and padded headbands (as on the Cloud II and Arctis 3) reduce fatigue over 3+ hour gaming periods. The HyperX Cloud II weighs 336 g with mic — lighter than most over-ear headphones at this price.
