For Mdantsane residents, the best gaming mechanical keyboard is a TKL or full-size board with linear Red switches at R800–R1,500 from Evetech. Brands like Redragon and ASUS ROG provide solid keyboards at this range. Evetech delivers to Eastern Cape addresses including Mdantsane in 2–4 business days.

Switch Types: What Mdantsane Buyers Should Know

Linear (Red): Smooth, fast, quiet. Best for gaming where speed matters. Cherry MX Red or Gateron Red are the most popular choices. Actuation force around 45g.

Tactile (Brown): Light bump without click sound. Good for gaming and typing. Recommended for students who also write assignments on the same keyboard.

Clicky (Blue): Loud click at actuation. Best typing feel, but loud — not suitable for shared spaces or quiet environments.

Hotswap boards allow switching between switch types later without soldering. Available at R1,200–R2,200.

Delivery to Mdantsane and Eastern Cape

Evetech ships keyboards via national courier to Eastern Cape addresses. Deliveries to Mdantsane route through East London and typically arrive in 2–4 business days. Tracking is provided from dispatch. If a residential address proves difficult for the courier, East London PUDO lockers are an accessible pickup alternative.

Keyboard Sizing: Full, TKL, or Compact?

Full-size keyboards include a numpad — good for Excel, accounting, or numerical data entry. TKL (80%) drops the numpad and frees desk space without sacrificing function keys. 65% and 60% boards are the most compact, freeing maximum desk space for wide mouse movement. For most Mdantsane gamers, TKL is the ideal balance between space and functionality.

FAQ

How much do mechanical keyboards cost at Evetech for Mdantsane buyers?

Entry mechanical keyboards start at R600. A solid mid-range board with Cherry MX or Gateron switches and RGB costs R900–R1,600. Premium hotswap boards with PBT keycaps and aluminium frames run R1,700–R2,500.

Does Evetech deliver mechanical keyboards to Mdantsane?

Yes — Evetech ships to Eastern Cape including Mdantsane via national courier. Orders typically arrive within 2–4 business days. Tracking is available from dispatch.

Should I get a TKL or full-size keyboard for gaming?

For gaming, TKL is generally recommended. Removing the numpad shifts the mouse to a more central position relative to the screen, which helps with mouse aim at standard desk sizes. A full-size is better if you regularly use the numpad for numerical work alongside gaming.
