A 4K projector is not needed to run a Minecraft server. Server capacity depends on processor performance, memory, storage, network quality and the chosen mod or player load, while the projector only changes how a local player or dashboard is displayed.
Test server and viewing needs independently
Host the intended world with representative players, plugins and backups, then record memory use, tick performance and network behaviour. Separately decide whether the room can support a large projected picture, suitable throw distance and controlled light.
No verified native 4K projector price appears in the product facts. The Yaber T1 Pro FHD HDR10 projector is verified at R2,900, and a ViewSonic portable LED projector with Harman Kardon audio is R5,996. Neither price proves suitability for 4K output. Check native resolution, brightness measurement, input support, latency, throw, replacement support and warranty.
Keep the server updated, use an allowlist where appropriate and maintain tested world backups away from the host. Do not expose administration ports casually. If gaming on the projected image, test control latency and text legibility from the actual seat.
Buy a projector because the shared viewing experience justifies it, not because the server needs one. Direct server funds to measured compute, memory or networking limits first. Audio quality deserves a separate room test.
