Gaming laptops ship in original manufacturer boxes inside a plain outer carton. Before signing, inspect the outer carton for crushed corners or wet patches. Inside: confirm laptop, AC adapter (check the SA-compatible plug), charging cable, quick-start guide, and warranty card. Power on within 24 hours — run a dead pixel test (solid-colour screen), verify all ports register, and check the keyboard for any non-responsive keys.
At R8,000–R16,000, catching a defect on day one is far simpler than returning after 2 weeks of use.
